The foundation with a few floor bricks. 4x10'

The secondary air intakes are bigger than this now and the fire box and ware chamber is about 10" taller, adding volume to the kiln.

The inside course of brick.  We scrounged several different sizes of brick so this had to be done.  Walls ended up about 11" thick.

The first and last rumble stack with a tall flame splitter in front.  Shelves are much nicer if you have them.

Kiln shelves span the kiln, then kaowool and kiln lids for insulation.

Finishing the chimney while we candle the kiln.  Yeah, it could use a few more feet.
We've since added more height to the kiln and more insulation on the roof.

 Firing in the mist.

Mark, on his head, cleaning out the intakes.

We learned a lot from this first fire.  We've fired the Boxagama eight times and results keep getting better with knowledge.

Great place to camp out and have a hot fire.  December, 2011.

We almost didn't get to fire this December.  16" of snow, but we made it thanks to tire chains.  It stopped snowing so we were able to get our pots the next week, instead of Spring.
